THE CLUBHOUSE
The Devils Lake Yacht Club features our beautiful 150 year old 3-story building with a small observation room above the main roof offering panoramic views of the lake.  In 2019, the Line Officers and Board of Governors presented to our members a newly renovated facility.  Members invested almost $2 million in the upgrades and expansion of our historic facility.  The entire bar area and dining room were completely renovated with the addition of a new pavilion to the east of the bar area.  A new partially covered patio deck was added to the north of the original building allowing for an additional 14 tables for food service adding to 25 tables in our main dining room. The centerpiece of the renovation was the addition of a historic solid oak back bar.  The antique and valuable Brunswick Mount Ora back bar purchased locally and custom installed during the renovation blends seamlessly into the original character of the building.  A large basement area was created under the deck and pavilion housing new accounting offices, men's and ladies' bathrooms and locker rooms, in addition to ample storage. The locker rooms were a welcomed addition for our boaters and beachgoers. Our renovations also included extensive structural and mechanical upgrades. The entire dining and bar areas were completely insulated, with the installation of new electrical systems utilizing high efficient LED lighting, new entertainment system, high efficiency HVAC system, and security and safety systems. The renovation also included new landscaping, exterior lighting, irrigation system, and the replacement of our parking lot.  The renovation has been met with incredible enthusiasm and appreciation from our members, guests, and visitors.  The vision of our club leadership fulfilled a 10-year plan to update the facility for our current and next generations of members.

DOCKS & SAILING
Devils Lake Yacht Club provides approximately 100 dock slips available for rent for power boats, sail boats and  jet skis. Power boats include traditional  ski boats, but more often relaxing pontoon boats.  Devils Lake Yacht Clubs owns Lightning Fleet 31 and was established in 1941. Today the fleet consists of several Lightning class sailboats. These Lighting class boats are 19-foot long trailerable centerboard sloops.  For many decades, DLYC has held sailboat races on Sundays and major holidays. Since 1941, the Devils Lake Yacht Regatta has been an annual tradition held in mid-September.  Our rich heritage in sailing has allowed the club to hold several national sailing competitions, including the National Sunfish Championship in the early 1970’s and the National Rebel Championship in the mid 1990’s.  We provide free sailing lessons to members and families during the summer season.

DEVILS LAKE
Devils Lake is the namesake of our club. Our members are fortunate to have access to this beautiful natural resource to enjoy.  Devils Lake is a natural lake located in northwest Lenawee County approximately 13 miles north and west of the community of Adrian.  It is part of the Bean Creek watershed which lies within the St. Joe of the Maumee River Basin.  Covering a surface area of approximately 1,300 acres, Devils Lake is the largest lake in Lenawee County and has a maximum depth of 63 feet.  Inlets to Devils Lake include Horton Creek and two small unnamed streams entering the lake at its northwest end.  Bean Creek outlets Devils Lake at its southwest end and flows to Addison Mill Pond, the Tiffin River, and the Maumee River to the south.  A small concrete dam at the origin of the outlet maintains the lake level at approximately 12 inches above Bean Creek.  Round Lake is approximately 600 acres and located immediately south and east of Devils Lake.  Round Lake is connected to Devils Lake by two small channels being too shallow for boating.  However, canoes and kayaks can traverse between the lakes. The lake has two sand bars being very shallow but allowing for boaters to anchor and enjoy the water.
